Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas

Health-Focused Nonprofit Organization

The Challenge

Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas recognized a critical need for reproductive healthcare and justice in South Dallas. However, there was a lack of trust among Black & Brown women in the community, shaped by historical inequities and gaps in culturally responsive care. While demand existed, engagement remained limited.

Our Approach

Soulstice Consultancy partnered with Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas to design a strategy grounded in trust-building and community voice. Our work included:

  • Cultivating relationships with healthcare providers serving South Dallas

  • Conducting focus groups with Black & Brown women to center lived experience

  • Reframing healthcare conversations to include care beyond reproductive years

This approach emphasized listening, partnership, and long-term community investment.

The Impact

As a result of this work, Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas expanded its services to include perimenopausal and menopausal healthcare, with a specific focus on Black & Brown women. This expansion led to increased client visits and deeper engagement, reflecting growing trust and alignment with community needs.

Cornerstone Community Development Corporation, Inc.

Neighborhood-Based Nonprofit Organization | South Dallas

The Challenge

For more than 30 years, Cornerstone Community Development Corporation (CCDC) has provided holistic, wraparound services to residents of the South Dallas and Fair Park area. As community needs grew, CCDC faced increasing pressure to expand services and funding, but lacked a cohesive strategic plan to guide that growth.

Our Approach

Soulstice Consultancy developed a comprehensive three-year strategic plan designed to strengthen CCDC’s foundation while preparing the organization for sustainable expansion. Our work included:

  • Reviewing internal infrastructure and operational systems

  • Clarifying organizational vision and long-term goals

  • Strengthening funding strategy and partner alignment

This plan ensured CCDC could grow responsibly without losing sight of its mission.

The Impact

Since the launch of the strategic plan in February 2025, Soulstice Consultancy has helped CCDC secure over $1 million in funding from Wells Fargo, build relationships with mission-aligned partners and thought leaders, and establish a clear roadmap to guide decision-making over the next three years.

Ciudad Nueva Community Center

Nonprofit Community Center | El Paso

The Challenge

Ciudad Nueva’s Executive Director faced challenges engaging the board in fundraising and operational support. While board members were deeply committed, their collective assets and networks were not fully understood or activated.

Our Approach

Soulstice Consultancy facilitated a customized board training during Ciudad Nueva’s 2025 annual board retreat. The session focused on:

  • Evaluating board composition and individual strengths

  • Identifying gaps and opportunities for engagement

  • Aligning board support with organizational priorities

The training created space for shared understanding, clarity, and collaboration.

The Impact

Board members gained insight into the depth of their collective resources, while leadership gained clarity on how to engage board members more effectively. The session left participants energized and aligned, setting the stage for stronger governance and organizational support.

Testimonial

Bethany Rivera Molinar - "The people who attended from our board really loved you and Kazai and I know that the time energized them in moving forward on behalf of Ciudad Nueva. We are so grateful for you!"

Methodist Health System

Regional Healthcare System | Dallas–Fort Worth

The Challenge

Methodist Health Systems wanted to engage the Southern Dallas community on a deeper level and increase its impact outside of its Charlton and HQ location.

Our Approach

Soulstice Consultancy partnered with Methodist Health Systems and several nonprofits to create a holistic workforce development program, now known as “The Methodist Community Collaborative”. Through asset mapping and recommendations provided, the initiative began as a Phlebotomy certification program that primarily enrolled individuals from targeted Southern Dallas Zip codes in partnership with For Oak Cliff, Southern Dallas Link, and CardBoard Project, along with Empowering the Masses. After graduation, the collaborative assisted with job placement through Inspiring Tomorrow’s Leaders. The collaborative also assisted with transportation and childcare for the participants, if needed. After several years, the MCC added a Medical Assistant Training, built a clinic in Bonton, and will launch its mobile clinic to provide care to communities in South Dallas.

The Impact

Our efforts to connect partners to the project have increased both the capacity of organizations through coaching and partnership development provided by Soulstice Consultancy and grant writing offered by Wise Resource Development. In addition, more than 100+ individuals have graduated from the Phlebotomy program and the Medical Assistant Certification, who now have liveable wage jobs and continued access to the supports offered such as transportation and childcare.

Annual Impact Report

The 2024 Methodist Community Collaborative (MCC) Annual Report highlights the organization’s impact in southern Dallas through workforce development, health equity initiatives, and strategic community partnerships. The report outlines achievements in phlebotomy and medical assistant training programs, expanded wraparound support services, financial growth, and new initiatives including the MCC Health Center and mobile medical unit. It also shares powerful community stories and partner collaborations that demonstrate MCC’s commitment to improving wellness and enhancing quality of life.
